The feature-length documentary Generalísimo, la vida de Franco en color to be screened at the Seminci in Valladolid

On Saturday 26 October, Generalísimo, la vida de Franco en color (Generalísimo, The Life of Franco in colour) is being screened at the Seminci in Valladolid (Valladolid International Cinema Week).

Francisco Franco was one of the most significant political figures of Spanish 20th-century history, and whose influence is still felt today. Drawing from archive material preserved in the Filmoteca Española, this feature-length documentary paints a rigorous and intense biographical portrait of the dictator; from his beginnings as a simple traditionalist soldier to his assuming control of the leadership of the insurrection and winning the civil war and going on to revel in absolute power for almost 40 years.  All shown for the first time ever in colourised footage, processed with cutting-edge digital techniques to bring the full force of the times alive and provide viewers with a new experience.

After its world premiere at the Seminci, the film will be on at cinemas in Madrid and Barcelona from 31 October.
