La dona del 600 tells the story of the family of Tomás, a widower in his seventies whose doctor orders him to avoid coffee, milk, salt and fat. He lives alone and spends his time as best he can. One day, his daughter Montse gives him a model of a Seat 600. She works for Médecins Sans Frontières and spends a lot of time abroad. She thinks her present will keep Tomàs busy building a full-scale replica of the car they had at home for so many years – the “confit”, as Carme, Tomàs’s wife, baptised the car her husband gave her and which became regarded as a member of the family.
La dona del 600 is written and directed by Pere Riera, and stars Mercè Sampietro, Àngels Gonyalons, Jordi Banacolocha, Pep Planas and Rosa Vila.
